"Wrong Operand Type" in Acrobat Reader

I'll readily admit, I didn't, and still don't, have any idea what that message means. Yes, I know it means a page in PDF form won't be displayed but I don't know what it MEANS, in the sense, it doesn't tell me what to do to fix it.

So I experimented and found out how to fix it.

Here's what you should do:

Go through the PDF file and note every page where you get that unhelpful error message.

Then go back to your source document (the document from which you created the PDF), delete the first page that's giving trouble in the PDF and re-create it from scratch.

Rinse, repeat. Do this for every page in the PDF that gives you trouble.

Publish to PDF again after you've re-created the troublesome pages.

Your PDF should work perfectly.

Hey, I never said I'd offer an explanation. I just said I'd show you how to do things.

UZZUOJDEThanks for advice - it helped. I found my problem started when i pasted stuff into Corel from another application, and a tiny bit of invisible corrupted stuff was hiding under some graphics.

i have the same problem, using corel x3 i export to .eps then distill without errors and get that error in .pdf

i found that the cause for this problem is fountain fill in one object, without it i get no problems, but i havent found a solution either

I found the problem too. I found little bits of extra things in the background. It was left over garbage from a vector file that was creating the problem. It looks like Any stray marks will keep it from saving as a proper PDF.

I create my PDF's in CorelDraw X5 and the simple solution was to select and cut all the content to the clipboard and paste it right back, ie, ctrl+ A, ctrl+ X, ctrl+ V and then export. Seems whatever mumbo jumbo involved gets cleared with this procedure.

Try updating the Language Support for Adobe. I installed an update for my Adobe Reader 7. After the installation, I opened then re-opened several times the same document(s) that gave me the "Wrong Operand Type" error message. No problems afterwards.

Just had the message 'wrong operand type' appear when trying to open a pdf created from Quark. Went through the page carefully one piece at a time and found that the type was in a 'SPOT' colour. Went into edit colours in quark. Deleted spot colour and changed all RGB colours to CYMK and hey presto. Everything is working fine. Hope this helps
